Where Restore fits

Additional or earlier support, not a replacement.

Some BC programs are mandated and run by the province. Restore doesn't replace them:

  • Responsible Driver Program for impaired driving, through RoadSafetyBC
  • Relationship Violence Prevention program through BC Corrections, named in many family violence probation orders

Restore is designed to meet court, probation and MCFD counselling requirements. Only the court, probation or MCFD can decide whether a specific condition has been met, so please share the wording of the order or conditions with your referral.

Confidentiality

What's shared, and with whom

  • The client signs a written consent before anything is shared with you or a referring body
  • Letters confirm attendance, participation and the areas worked on, not session content
  • Letters are not risk assessments or psychological evaluations
  • The first 10 minutes of the first session explain all of this to the client

Samples

See the paperwork before you refer

Both samples use a fictional client and are marked as samples.
