Common Concerns We Help Clients With

Many clients begin counselling when emotional stress, relationship difficulties, or past experiences start to feel difficult to manage alone. Counselling offers a structured space to understand these patterns, process experiences, and develop healthier ways of coping and relating.

At Praxis Wellness, we support individuals navigating challenges such as:

• anxiety and chronic stress
• depression and persistent low mood
• trauma, PTSD, and unresolved past experiences
• ADHD and attention-related challenges
• anger and emotional regulation difficulties
• addiction, substance use, and compulsive behaviours
• attachment patterns and relationship challenges
• performance anxiety and high-pressure environments
• cultural pressures, family expectations, and identity-related stress
• childhood experiences and intergenerational trauma

Counselling focuses on helping clients develop greater emotional awareness, strengthen resilience, and build healthier patterns in relationships, work, and everyday life.

The Praxis Wellness Approach

Counselling at Praxis Wellness is a collaborative process focused on understanding emotional patterns, building emotional awareness, and creating meaningful, lasting change.

In the initial sessions, we take time to understand what brings you to therapy, the experiences shaping your current challenges, and the goals you would like to work toward. This stage often involves exploring emotional patterns, relationship dynamics, and past experiences with care and curiosity.

As therapy progresses, sessions may focus on strengthening emotional regulation, processing difficult experiences, and developing healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

My work integrates techniques drawn from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR, somatic-based healing, and CBT-based strategies. These approaches support healing not only at a cognitive level, but also emotionally and physically, helping changes feel more integrated and sustainable over time.

Sessions move at a pace that feels right for you. Some clients seek support for immediate concerns or practical solutions, while others choose to explore deeper emotional patterns or past experiences to support longer-term change.

Wherever you begin, sessions are guided by your goals and comfort. Our role is to provide a supportive, thoughtful space where we work toward greater clarity, resilience, and emotional balance.

I’m Sartaj Sandhu, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) based in British Columbia and the founder of Praxis Wellness. My work focuses on supporting individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and emotional stress through thoughtful, trauma-informed counselling.

I bring over 10,000 hours of experience supporting individuals and families, including several years working with families affected by trauma, conflict, and complex life circumstances. These experiences have shaped my belief that meaningful change in therapy comes not only from understanding our thoughts, but also from recognizing and processing the emotional patterns, family dynamics, and cultural experiences that influence how we relate to ourselves and others.

My approach integrates techniques drawn from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR therapy, and somatic-based healing approaches. These modalities help clients process experiences at both emotional and physiological levels, allowing therapeutic change to feel more integrated and sustainable over time.

I practice through a culturally responsive and socially informed lens, recognizing how culture, family expectations, migration experiences, and social pressures can shape emotional well-being. For many clients, therapy becomes a space to explore these influences with care while developing greater clarity, resilience, and emotional balance.

Sessions are available in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, allowing clients to speak in the language that feels most natural when discussing personal experiences.

At Praxis Wellness, therapy is collaborative and paced with care, with the goal of helping clients develop deeper insight, healthier emotional regulation, and more fulfilling relationships.
